Hello, welcome to my website.
My name is Hovhannes John Babakhanyan and I am a classically trained actor and singer living in Los Angeles, CA.
I have worked in film, and repertory Theatres all around the world since the age of 15. During my time in repertory theatre, I have played over 230 roles in the works of playwrights such as Shakespeare, Brecht, Tennessee Williams, Ionesco, William Saroyan, etc. Each one of these roles has taught me something new about the world and the people that live in it.
Through film, I have explored the many facets of personal connection and interaction. Starring in projects such as Herostratus, Count Cagliostro, The Priestess, Symphony of Silence, Anthropology, has allowed me to truly examine the human condition and the many contradictions that are inherent within it.
Every actor must master as many different disciplines of art as possible, these include singing, dance, etc. in order to fully represent the human experience to audiences. I never stop working because the audience gives the actor their most valuable possession, their time. Once the audience shares this invaluable asset with the actor, it is our responsibility to tell a story and touch their souls within those precious moments.
